Violin and guitar lessons in Portuguese, English, Dutch or German in Estoril, Portugal

Laura van de Woord (violin) and Jeroen Hobbel (guitar) have been teaching in Holland for a long time. They were teaching at music schools, gave private lessons, worked at primary schools and high schools and performed as Duo Corcova. www.freewebs.com/duocorcova2
They finished Conservatory (highest level of music in Holland, master of music) in the year 2000. Now they are both teaching in Estoril, Portugal as private teachers and still are performing with Duo Corcova in several countries.
About the Music Lessons
The lessons will take 30 minutes each week. Beside these lessons the students will play together in groups a lot of times.
The nicest thing to do is to play together! From the very first start they will be able to play with others. During the normal lessons they will learn how to hold the instrument, the tecniques and various styles that can be played on the instrument.
Laura and Jeroen are specialised in Classical and World Music, but teach also different styles.
In the beginning the students will learn all different kind of styles, to develope and later on they can choose which style fits them the most. They will have at least two class concerts each year, to show family and friends what they have been learning during the year.
The parents can join at the lessons with the children until the age of 6 years if necessary. It is much nicer when the parents see after a few months how the child improved at our class concerts. For the very young children sometimes the parents can help practising at home. The students need to practise at home. The best is to practise every day. They learn to tune after a few years. This is very difficult, so during the lessons, the teacher will do this.
It is important to have a good instrument. The best is to buy one at a luthier. Of course there are cheaper ways, but than it will be harder to get a nice sound out of it.
Luthiers make handmade instruments, which really sound the best. Also if something is broken, they are able to repair it.
