The teachers of Corcova Música

Laura van de Woord (violin) and Jeroen Hobbel (guitar) have started Corcova Música in Portugal in 2015.

They both have more than 20 years of experience in teaching in different countries and languages. They were working with individual lessons, group lessons and conducting orchestras at music schools of the state and worked as private teachers. Besides their master of music diploma, they followed many other courses for teaching and conducting. The teachers are also active in performing themselves.

Under the name Duo Corcova they perform together since 2002. The duo was formed through a common interest in classical music and world music. With these styles, they still perform in Europe. In 2012 they produced their debut CD 'Violino e Violão' in  Lucas van Merwijk's Tam Tam Studio. They produced a second CD with Brazilian music as well. They were several times on National Radio in the Netherlands in the show 'Vroege Vogels'. Also they were played in the show 'Brazilian Blend'. and other local radio stations. 

Laura van de Woord studied violin with Kati Sebestyen at the Brabants Conservatory and got her diploma in 2000. During her studies she followed several masterclasses of chamber music with; the Storioni Trio, Alexander Hrisanide, and others. She participated in chamber music courses in Switzerland, Belgium, Spain, and Austria. After her studies she was coached by Andras Czifra on violin and on the viola by Ervin Schiffer. She played in several ensembles in different countries.

Jeroen Hobbel finished his studies in 2000 with Hans van Goch and Dick Hoogeveen with the main subject classical guitar at the conservatory of Rotterdam. He followed masterclasses with John Mills and Dick Visser. After this he studied with a lot of enthusiasm “Tango of Argentina” also at the conservatory of Rotterdam. He performed in many countries in different formations.
